Ebow - Butch Im Tank (L.M.S.)
Just in time for pride, the third instalment of my collaboration with Ebow.
Ebru and I conceptualised this one together. She recruited a beautiful group of butches in Berlin and scouted the perfect location. On the day, I grabbed my camera and we shot the whole video in under 3 hours — a new record for me. I do love the pressure of a time constraint...
A special mention has to go out to our movement director, Marie Zechiel. This video simply wouldn't have been possible without her. She handled all the communication with the cast, giving me the freedom to focus entirely on the camera. She understood exactly what I was looking for, translated that into movement, and created an atmosphere where everyone felt comfortable enough to simply be themselves.
I want Marie on every shoot from now on—and you probably should too.

Ebow - Novoline
We’ve just released the video for Ebow’s “Novoline”. It’s the second music video I directed for her upcoming album. Ebow came up with the concept for this one, so I listened carefully and translated what she told me into a storyboard that felt right. It was an emotional shoot because the song is so personal for Ebru and honest work just carries more weight on set. One of my favourite moments was being alone in the final room with the actors and our steadicam operator, Kristin Freia — I’d give the wonderful actors directions throughout the takes, while Kristin and I floated around the table together as a unit. I just love those more intimate shooting situations : concentrated, efficient, magnetic. Thank you to my wonderful team for pulling off this beautiful piece together.

Ebow - Arbayt
This music video marks the beginning of a beautiful collaboration with German-Kurdish hip hop artist Ebow. We met a year ago to discuss the possibility to do some music videos together for her upcoming album. Here we are now on the 1st of May with a banger celebrating the working class. This video is the result of a wonderful, dedicated team, with a radiant, generous, trusting artist (Ebru) at its helm. Her words will resonate. I am honoured.

A Bunny’s Foot
A Rabbit’s Foot magazine put on a short film competition inviting films pertaining to “the senses”. I made this film specifically for the competition in about a month’s time with a small and dedicated team. The magazine’s editor Charles Finch liked the film so much, he awarded us with the “Editor’s Prize”. Here’s an article in Variety about it. And the official announcement on the A Rabbit’s Foot page.
